the Parlotones Review

10 October 2009

Think this sums it up...as this is from the official Parlotones diary blog: -

Love the bit about the flight of the Concords...will take that as a compliment!

Was a rocking sold out concert at the Bitterzoet venue. The Parlotones group of guys didn't disappoint on & off stage. After giving a fantastic performance, they enjoyed hanging out with their fans at BZ till the early hours. It was a pleasure having them in Holland and we look forward to having them back April 2010 and then holding more than 1 concert...likely 2nd concert after Amsterdam..either Den Haag or Rotterdam.

Was very refreshing meeting these guys who were totally down to earth & genuine people.

'We left London at 4am, caught the ferry and drove through France and Belgium to arrive in Amsterdam around 2pm. We check into the Backstage Hotel, a cool hotel with rock décor. We finally get to shower and clean up. At soundcheck we meeting the other band, they called The Outsiders and they from New
Zealand. The promoter is also from New Zealand, and it’s like we were in an episode of Flight of the Conchords! After soundcheck we go across the road and eat at a Mexican restaurant. Then at the venue I meet a childhood friend of my mother’s, who used to be babysit me. I also met a friend of mine from high school, who now lives in LA, but flew over to Amsterdam for the weekend. The gig was great, they got about 400 people into that little venue. After the gig we walked around the city and saw the sights. We walked around the Red Light District, was pretty weird. Met some really friendly drug dealers who offered me a free Viagra with any purchase... which I politely declined.'
